Fundamental Doctrines of the Church of God:: Part 4

4. Apostolic Teachings {exhortation}

New Testament Books Total 27. 4 Gospels; Epistles 21. Fourteen of Paul’s epistles: Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and Hebrews. Epistle of Peter 2; John’s Epistle 3; Jacob 1. Judah 1; Acts is the history written by Luke; John’s Book of Revelation (Apocalypse/Revelation).

In this, Luke’s history of the early church is significant. In it, the Acts of the Apostles {can be defined as the actions of the Holy Spirit through the apostles}. Let us understand how it was and what it was. Their actions and teachings are the guidance of the church.

That is what the church should follow and adhere to. Pentecostal communities claim to be the successors of the early church and are still in full compliance today. The Word’s purity and the Holy Spirit’s work are still evident in this community. But do not forget that there are also deceivers and heretical advisers among them.

In Gala: 1.8, Paul the Apostle says very strictly: “But if we, or an angel from heaven, preach the gospel to you contrary to what we preached to you, let him be accursed.”

The divine revelations from the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation concerning humans have been recorded by God to his servants by the holy spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16, 17 All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for instruction, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect in every good work.

2 Peter.1:21: “Prophecy never came by the will of man, but by the commandment of God, men spoke by the Holy Spirit.

All divine revelations in the Old and New Testaments are of great importance. But as the fulfillment of the Old Testament scriptures and prophecies, Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. The new plan of salvation for humans was also opened in the teachings, including the life, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (the fundamental theology)

Jesus established his church on earth through the 12 disciples {excluding Judas Iscariot} chosen during his ministry. It continues (being built) to this day. Ephesians 2.20 reads, “Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, building you upon the foundation of apostles and prophets.”

The Old Testament prophets and the New Testament apostles of Jesus Christ are meant here. The words (prophecies) of the Old Testament prophets are the foundation stones of the New Testament church. We have the prophetic verse that Peter the Apostle says about the Old Testament prophets in 2 Peter 1.19. It is better to keep it as a lamp that shines in a dark place until the morning dawns and the rising star rises in your heart. “

Here the importance of Old Testament prophecies is highlighted. Old Testament prophets and New Testament apostles are the foundation stones built on both sides of the chief Corner Stone, Jesus Christ.

The New Testament apostles refer to the 12 apostles who Jesus Christ directly chose.

There have been many other church fathers and apostles since the first century. But it is interesting to note that the 12 apostles are mentioned here as foundation stones.

Acts 1.22-26 reads that Matthias was chosen instead of “Judas,” who had become perishable when the 12 apostles were mentioned. There are no clear verses on whether God accepted this conversion.

And not one doctrine or epistle attributed to Matthias is found or added in the Holy Bible. So, I am paying attention to Matthias. But the apostle Paul is more important in the Bible than Matthias. The other eleven were called by Jesus Christ directly, but Matthias was chosen by all of them to complete the number of members.

But we read in Acts Ch 9 that the resurrected Jesus Christ directly calls the apostle Paul {Acts Ch 9.15} The Lord says to Ananias that Paul is a vessel that I have chosen to bear my testimony. There are 14 epistles of Paul in the Holy Bible. It is Paul who is the leader in evangelistic work and missionary journeys.

Divine revelations, teachings, and interpretations of the Old Testament Scriptures are abundant in Paul. For many other reasons, I consider Paul the Apostle as one of the 12 apostles in my opinion and study. There may be differences of opinion. I am giving my opinion.

By apostolic exhortation, basic precepts (precepts) are based on specific basic facts.

1. Apostles must be those directly called and chosen by Jesus Christ.

2. They should have unquestionable experience and faith in the incarnation, life, suffering, death, resurrection, divinity, etc., of Jesus Christ.

3. The apostles were those commissioned by the Holy Spirit to interpret the books of the Old Testament and the prophetic books without error and to teach them together with the New Testament.

That is why Paul is an apostle.

When talking about the Lord’s Table, 1 Cori: 11. 23 says, “I have received from the Lord and delivered to you,” and establishes the doctrine about the Lord’s Table. He says to observe the Lord’s table for the memory of Jesus Christ by including the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Two things are worth noting here: 1: This creed says precisely what Jesus Christ said. Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:18-20, Paul was not there when Jesus Christ told the disciples who were with him that day; he foresaw the pain, physical torture, bloodshed, and death that was going to happen to him and said that you must do this deed in remembrance of me.

2; Although Paul was not in that group then, Paul gives this very precisely without any change from what Jesus Christ said in 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 as a warning to the church. Precise advice is given about the bread and the wine.

In 1 Corinthians 10.16-17, we see the fellowship that unites the church in Christ. Isn’t the bread we break the communion of Christ’s body? 17. As the bread is one, we who are many are one body; We are all part of that bread.”

This is called apostolic counsel received from the Lord by the spiritual commission and given to the church. To illustrate an example.

The apostles’ teachings are numerous, and it is only possible to mention some of them here.

Baptism is a commandment of Jesus Christ. Mathew 28. 19,20 sentences. But the detailed teaching of baptism is clear in Colossians 2 .12 “12 In baptism you were buried with him and raised with him through faith in the mercantile power of God who raised him from the dead.” Here, baptism is not just a ceremony; it is also a declaration of faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Gospel: Jesus Christ says in Mark 16:15 to announce (preach). But the apostle Paul gives an accurate description of what the gospel is. 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, and 2 Timothy 2:8. The gospel is about Jesus Christ. That is to preach the things (things) about the salvation (eternal life) available through him.

This is the specialty of the apostolic teachings. This is in the early days of the church. Already in the first century, the Holy Spirit gave the church among his chosen disciples. No one can add or subtract from it. The Bible or the Holy Spirit says that he who does so is accursed even if he is an angel [Gal 1:8]

And the Holy Spirit, gifts of grace, various orders in the church, behavior patterns, spiritual cultures, and the restoration of the saints. Transfiguration, ascension, separation, sanctification, the coming of Jesus Christ, the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth, the reign of a thousand and two years, the new earth, judgment, eternity., and many other topics and their information are also given in the Apostles. They are recorded in the Holy Bible.

But contrary to what is written in the Holy Bible, wrongly, adding, subtracting, preaching, teaching, and doing has been a practice since ancient times. Satan is making great strides in this matter. Evil counselors, false prophets, and many thieves, such as gospel peddlers, word peddlers, etc., are very handy these days.

All practices and teachings that do not conform to the Word of God and do not stand in apostolic teachings are false and demonic. It is Satan’s business power to twist and misinterpret the Word and apostolic teachings for positions, publicity, money, and various other gains. Twisting and bending apostolic teachings is Satan’s forte.

Here is what I see and hear in my experience. New ideas are what God’s people, the hearers, and the preachers need. The original Word is twisted and misinterpreted for that purpose, and the actual Word deviates from the truth. Such things done to entertain the listeners are wrong and violate the Word. Trying to find new ideas other than the truth and statements written in this Sathya Vedic book will mislead the listeners and make them think away from the truth of God’s Word.

It is remarkable what the Apostle Paul tells Timothy about such people.

2 Timothy 4.1-4′ 3 “The time will come when they will not tolerate the teaching of the truth and will multiply teachers according to their lusts to please their ears and will not listen to the truth and will return to listen to fables.” {2 Peter 3: 14 – 18 & Matthew 7: 15 -29;} beware of Keep seeking new ideas.

Those who say that there was nothing new in that pastor’s sermon and that the other pastor gave new ideas would do well to do a test by the Word. It is not a grand and impressive speech, but it is God’s will to preach the truth of the Word. All other preaching and teaching have demonic possession. This is where the control and importance of apostolic counsel become necessary.

There is no dispute that the “apostolic teachings” preserve the culture-rich life values, purity of life, social responsibility, and above all, the divine relationship in the church, keeping the church away from evil teachings and immoral tendencies. The control and authority of the Holy Spirit and the strict supervision of apostolic doctrines have always held the church in holiness and purity of the Word.

But these days, because some people who say they are God’s people and God’s servants are doing many false and devilish things and trends, let’s say painfully, stop pouring until it is like this. Search by Word. We should not allow such people to exploit our faith and money. It is encouraged to be those who have wisdom and knowledge in the Word and those who have stability and courage in faith. May our God bless everyone.
