Fundamental Doctrines of the Church of God Continued: –Part 2

2: Baptism: Matthew 28:19-20

Baptism is the second fundamental doctrine. Baptism is the next step for a person who has repented after hearing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In different ways and concepts, different churches perform this sacrament of baptism. What is wrong and what is right is not my issue. Let’s see what the Holy Bible says and what the early church and apostles practiced.

Mainly this is the commandment of Jesus Christ. Note the verses in Matthew 28:19,20. The risen Christ is the commandment given to his disciples.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; He said, “I am with you always until the end of the world.”

Three things are evident in this order –>

1: Go out —>

Acts 1 .8, Jesus Christ said, “When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be my witnesses to the ends of the earth” That is the same thing Jesus Christ Matthew 28; 19 says. So go forth. Witness Jesus everywhere in the world.

2: Instruct them to observe all that I have instructed you.

No falsehood should be added to the teachings, teachings, or commandments of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ command, counsel, and teachings are not to be interpreted and taught according to convenience or organization or according to one’s intelligence. It is to be followed literally.

It should be told to other people without making any changes. It is the responsibility of the church or the disciples of Christ. That has changed in this age of the proliferation of preachers and congregations. However, teachings are twisted for selfish interests like money, power, and popularity. Bad advice thrives. This should be noted, and the word should be taught and preached correctly. God’s servants had done so in the past. Therefore, it was possible to oppose the evil teachings strongly, and the church could stand with purity.

3: Baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit:

There are many different types of baptisms available today. Infant baptism, adult baptism. Baptisms in various rites and concepts such as Jesus’ Name Baptism sprinkle baptism, etc. Matthew 28 .19, 20 verses quoted above says there. Everywhere is to preach (bear witness to Jesus) and teach. Those who believe after hearing it should be baptized and made disciples. If one is to believe, you must listen; you must understand. If understood, the individual will experience a change of mind and get baptized. Then infant baptism or adult baptism is irrelevant.

I say here Mt: 28. 18 found all authority in heaven and on earth; It is the command of the risen Jesus Christ who conquered death and the underworld

Baptism of faith

Jesus’ command is the baptism of faith on repentance. In Saint Mark’s Gospel in 16.16, it is recorded that Jesus said that whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. It means that whoever does not believe will be condemned. Only one who hears the gospel and becomes a believer should be baptized. A child or One should not be baptized because one is an adult. Be baptized immediately after believing and repenting. I learned in my studies that we don’t

need to baptize babies to be taken to heaven because the time until realization is God’s plan. Jesus said, Matthew 19.14 – “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and do not hinder them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Whatever the situation, we can understand God’s attitude and plan toward children.

No church or organization can take or bring anyone to heaven through any rituals. The Bible does not teach that. Everything is God’s will and plans. It’s personal. It is only a divine decision based on the intimacy between God and the individual. A man cannot interfere with it. Therefore, in Acts: 2.47, it is said that the Lord adds the saved to the church daily. Infant baptism was introduced after AD 220. I am not going into further explanation.

Jesus Name Baptism:

Baptism is the commandment of the risen Jesus, to be done in the name of the Father and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In the plan of man’s salvation, the three personal acts of the one true God can be seen, God the Father in creation, God the Son in redemption, and the Holy Spirit from conversion to transfiguration can be seen and understood very clearly by any person who reads the Bible.

I am just giving an example. I do not believe in the doctrine of the Trinity.

But we believe in the triunity of God. The redemption of man is no small matter. It is one of the most critical things in heaven, earth, and all creation, especially in the case of the Church of God. The Apostle Paul describes the importance of the Church of God in the Epistle to Ephesians. Therefore, we believe in full immersion baptism in the name, where the involvement of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is evident in this redemptive plan.

The Argument of Those Who Baptize Only in the Name of Jesus in Acts 2.38, the apostle Peter says, “Peter said to them: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins; But you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. So, is baptism for the remission of sins? Why only the name of Jesus? Such doubts may arise. Because à Until then, they had only known a baptism what the disciples had seen and experienced. Baptism of John the Baptist for the forgiveness of sins.

Similarly, Peter says so in his sermon. But later, history clarifies that they did not do so after receiving revelations from the Holy Spirit. The apostle Paul’s interpretation of baptism is said in his writings. Moreover, in Act 2, Peter’s purpose was to establish to those gathered that Jesus is God and the Messiah of Israel.

Act: 2:22-36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, Lord and Christ.”
