This article is meant to clarify the basic biblical doctrines that I follow. They are not Christian religious faith documents. It will be different for many people and churches. I wish to write about the doctrines that must be followed a disciple of Christ (a real Christian) must follow.
Some people have asked me, what are the basic doctrines you follow. So, I understand it is appropriate timing to write about them and spread these basic doctrines given to the church.
I have heard many people describe the basic doctrines in many ways.
But these are the teachings that the church has received from the early Church. Because these are the teachings that the church has received based on the work done by the early church. In the last parts of that chapter from the sermon given by the apostle and Peter in the Acts of the Apostles chapter 2. These doctrines are important and must be followed because they were given by the Holy Spirit through the apostles.
In Acts 2, filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter and eleven others stood up and the apostle Peter preached to the people gathered there. It is said that more than 3,000 of those who gathered there repented and were baptized and joined the church. Act: 2.41: The seven basic things that happened at the beginning of the church then and continue to be followed are still the main basic doctrines of the church.
Act: 2:37-47 mainly deals with seven doctrines. Repentance, Baptism, Holy Spirit, Apostolic teachings, Fellowship: Breaking of Bread: Prayer: (Didache, Greek: “Teaching”) also called Teaching of the 12 Apostles of Jesus Christ,)
Basic doctrines and creeds (Faith and belief) are different. For example, the divine trinity, the incarnation of Jesus Christ, the deity, and justification by faith. etc. and many subjects are faith and belief. But basic doctrines are something that must be put into practice.
But it will not be right to mix and teach religious Faith and belief and basic doctrines. Both are different. It will be difficult to understand the proper teachings. But let’s not forget that there are many strong similarities between the basic doctrines and the Christian religious faith and belief. Christian’s faith and belief may have been formulated by various Christian organizations (churches) according to their views and ideas. But no one is allowed to make any change to the basic doctrines which have been constant from the early church to the present day.
That is why it is said in Acts 2.47 that the Lord added those who were saved to the church every day. Only the Lord adds a person to the church. This is because God is the only one who knows hearts and minds. (Psalm 139)
The basic teachings and doctrines given to the church by the apostles of the first century, who are the disciples of Jesus Christ, are meant here. And the teachings of Jesus Christ that they received. Words received from the Holy Spirit are also given to the church.
Efforts have been made to add to it later. Many things have changed after the second and third centuries before and since. But nothing was added to the original Bible, which consists of 66 books. Many other writings are available in connection with the Bible. It’s not that they’re bad, it’s just that they’re not authentic.
1: Repentance and forgiveness of sin. Luke 24:47
Both the Old Testament and the New Testament speak of repentance. Prophets preach many prophecies for the return of Israel who received the law. They have it in the New Testament too.
Repentance is defined as turning away from the wrong way or sinful ways and turning to the right way. It is based on the knowledge that comes to one. No matter what subject it is, the knowledge that penetrates a person will bring about changes in that person. Repentance is defined by the Bible as the change that a person receives when he hears the gospel. (The gospel is the words about Jesus Christ).
Ro: 10: 17. Therefore faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Repentance is the experience of turning away from satanic ways and other gods and turning to the true God. (Returning to the Real God). This is the primary aim of the Holy Bible.
That change brings great changes in one’s lifestyle, character, and thoughts. He is helped by the Holy Spirit. It is one’s personal freedom to believe or accept the gospel upon hearing it. God will not interfere with it. Preaching the gospel is a divine command and it is God’s responsibility. So that is what every Christian (son of God) should do.
When one hears the gospel and accepts it, the repentance that occurs in him, leads him to the forgiveness of sins. God forgives his previous sins. No one but God can absolve sins in heaven and on earth. Pleading and sharing your sins with another human being, performing pujas and Tirtha yathras, do not lead to forgiveness of sin.
Based on the received Gospel knowledge, make a direct confession to God and pray: (1 Timothy 2:5,6. God is one, and there is one mediator between God and men. It is the man Jesus Christ who gave himself as a ransom for all.
Forgiveness is God’s greatest “mercy” to a person who believes the gospel and repents. All sins committed in times of ignorance are freely forgiven by faith in Christ Jesus.
In the writings of the apostle Paul mentions “justification by faith” Gala 2 .16: Ro 3 .28.: Ro 5.1 Having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Forgiveness is obtained through repentance and faith. It should be understood that it is not by baptism.
It will be described later in relation to baptism. In Luke: 24:46,47, it says that repentance in the name of Jesus Christ and the forgiveness that comes from it should be preached together.
The first basic doctrine is repentance; It is received by hearing the word and believing it.
Through repentance and forgiveness of sins, one is transformed into a son of God. Ro 10 .17
